Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the integrity, availability, and security of the organization's server infrastructure and operating systems.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for complex hardware and software issues across various departments.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party contractors to evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies into existing systems.
- Develop and document comprehensive technical procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor system performance metrics and proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement.
- Conduct regular system audits and security assessments to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT infrastructure management.
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (preferred for this government role).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation and system management.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Linux distributions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
