Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications and IT systems to support state operations.
- Conduct system analysis and architecture planning to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure strict compliance with state security protocols, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and IT governance standards.
- Lead technical teams in troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies and legacy systems to modernize the agency's digital footprint.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, software development, or IT infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (SQL, Oracle) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with government contracting regulations or public sector IT projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record may be required for field work.
