Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux).
- Implement and monitor advanced security protocols to protect sensitive government data and networks.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across multiple county departments.
- Oversee network administration, including firewall configuration, VPN management, and bandwidth optimization.
- Lead major IT initiatives, including system upgrades and digital transformation projects.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure 99.9% uptime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced government environment.
