Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability of critical services.
- Enforce data security protocols and ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage server hardware, virtualization platforms, and operating system installations/upgrades.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal staff and external government agencies.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execute regular system backups and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or similar are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, public service environment.
