The State of Tennessee is urgently seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team in Memphis, TN. We are looking for a technical leader to manage our critical infrastructure and ensure the security and reliability of state services.
As a key member of our IT department, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing our systems and supporting the Department of Human Services' mission.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Windows Server and Linux infrastructure environments.
- Oversee network administration, including firewalls, switches, and VPN configurations.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and Level 3 technical support for internal staff.
- Conduct regular system audits and implement disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage hardware and software lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or similar are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
