Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure for state agencies.
- Lead the migration of on-premise servers to secure cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Ensure compliance with state security standards and federal regulations (NIST/FISMA).
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for mission-critical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize IT workflows and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Train junior staff and mentor the IT team on best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Valid certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced government environment with strict compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
