We are urgently hiring a dedicated Senior Information Technology Specialist to join the District of Columbia Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). Responsibilities
- Lead System Architecture: Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-level software solutions using modern frameworks and scalable cloud technologies.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and monitor robust security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
- Project Management: Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and design to testing and final deployment.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide advanced technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct system analysis and code reviews to identify bottlenecks and improve application performance and scalability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with agency leadership and non-technical staff to translate complex requirements into actionable technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering, systems administration, or IT project management within the public or private sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, C#) and database management systems (SQL, Oracle). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is required.
- Certifications: PMP, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect certification is highly desirable.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the District of Columbia.
- License: Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel to agency sites as necessary.
