The Role
As the Senior IT Systems Administrator, you will be the backbone of our IT operations. You will design, implement, and maintain complex network systems, ensuring high availability and security for all county departments.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Oversee server maintenance, virtualization technologies, and cloud infrastructure integration.
- Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive county data and citizen information.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new IT solutions and upgrade legacy systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and network security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
