Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows Server environments, including virtualization technologies (Hyper-V and VMware).
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity measures, including firewall management, intrusion detection, and access control policies to protect sensitive state data.
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex network solutions to ensure high availability and seamless connectivity across state agencies.
- Conduct regular system performance audits, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide advanced technical leadership and mentorship to junior system administrators and IT support staff.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system architecture diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve service delivery models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering within a large enterprise or government environment.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, or Microsoft Certified: Solutions Expert are highly preferred.
- Deep working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPN technologies, and cloud integration (Azure/AWS).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
