The Role:
As a Senior IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and administration of our enterprise IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in modernizing our systems and ensuring the highest level of data security and service availability for state agencies.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, networks, and virtualization environments.
- Oversee network security protocols, firewall configurations, and ensure compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Lead cloud migration projects utilizing Azure or AWS, ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and mentorship to junior system administrators and helpdesk staff.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and drive digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Valid certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell, Linux, and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and Identity Management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
