As a key member of our technology division, you will be responsible for the stability, scalability, and security of our network and server environments, ensuring uninterrupted services for all municipal departments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the City's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and server infrastructure.
- Configure, deploy, and manage enterprise-level hardware and software solutions to meet departmental needs.
- Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security across all IT systems in compliance with local and federal standards.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for complex hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and upgrade IT systems and network security protocols.
- Monitor system performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, virtualization technologies (VMware), and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Proven experience in IT security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical staff.
