Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the daily operations of server environments, virtualization platforms, and network hardware to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and government systems from cyber threats.
- System Administration: Perform system upgrades, patch management, and troubleshooting for Windows and Linux servers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deploy new IT solutions that improve city services.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support: Provide Level 3 support for complex technical issues affecting internal departments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Certifications: Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSE is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PowerShell, Active Directory, VMware, and cloud services (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Compliance: Understanding of federal and state government IT compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
