Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure for state agencies.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot critical hardware and software issues with zero downtime.
- Ensure compliance with state cybersecurity protocols and data protection laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new IT solutions and upgrades.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff members.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT support contracts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification required.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and firewall management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be available for on-call emergency support.
