Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux) to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls to meet federal compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform regular system audits, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning to mitigate risks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior administrators and support staff.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of progressive experience.
- Valid IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation and task management.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
