Responsibilities
- System Administration & Maintenance: Oversee the daily operations, monitoring, and maintenance of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and hardware infrastructure across the district.
- Project Implementation: Lead and participate in the planning, design, and deployment of new IT systems and software upgrades, ensuring alignment with agency goals.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data, ensuring compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Technical Support: Serve as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues for department staff.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to evaluate, select, and manage technology solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT systems analysis, network administration, or a related field within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server administration, SQL database management, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
