Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex IT systems, databases, and network architecture for municipal operations.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable technical solutions for government stakeholders.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA, data privacy laws).
- Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of major IT projects and system upgrades.
- Conduct regular security audits and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive public data.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and IT staff.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to manage service contracts and system integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems analysis, software development, or database management.
- Proven experience working within a government, public sector, or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL) and database management systems.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
