The New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Analyst to lead critical technology initiatives that serve millions of residents.
DoITT plays a pivotal role in the city's digital transformation, ensuring reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. As a Senior Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust IT systems that drive government efficiency and transparency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-life cycle design and implementation of complex IT systems and software applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.
- Conduct system capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure optimal functionality under heavy load.
- Ensure strict compliance with NYC agency policies, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and accessibility standards.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance on architectural best practices.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, architecture, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or C# and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Deep understanding of database management systems (SQL, Oracle) and data warehousing concepts.
- Certification such as CISSP, PMP, or AWS Solutions Architect is a strong plus.
- NYC Residency Requirement: Must be a permanent resident of New York City at the time of appointment.
