Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to protect sensitive state data in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy software updates and system patches with minimal disruption.
- Perform regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior administrators and end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCSA, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance may be required for travel to state facilities.
