Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Engineering: Design, deploy, and manage complex IT systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) to support city-wide operations.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and maintain rigorous security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of major IT initiatives and software upgrades.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and proactively resolve technical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Legacy Modernization: Oversee the migration of legacy systems to modern, scalable platforms, improving efficiency and user experience.
- Documentation & Standards: Create detailed technical documentation and enforce coding standards across the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, network engineering, or software development within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and government officials.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered technical problems under pressure.
