Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex server infrastructure using Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state security standards, including FISMA and HIPAA regulations.
- Lead incident response efforts to resolve critical system outages and security breaches promptly.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource allocation and efficiency.
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Manage virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V, ensuring high availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a large-scale environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or VCP are strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) and virtualization.
- Ability to obtain a Texas State Employee security clearance.
