Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure using Cisco and Juniper technologies.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively troubleshoot complex connectivity issues.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support digital transformation and smart city initiatives.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network administrators and IT staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering or administration.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with network security best practices, including firewall management and VPN configuration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license.
