Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative recreational programs for diverse age groups
- Oversee park maintenance operations including landscaping and facility safety
- Coordinate community events and festivals attracting 500+ attendees
- Manage departmental budgets and vendor relationships
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing new recreational initiatives
- Conduct safety audits and ensure ADA compliance standards
- Develop grant proposals to secure funding for park improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in municipal parks and recreation management
- Texas Parks & Recreation Society (TPRS) certification preferred
- Proven budget management experience ($500k+ annual budgets)
- CPR/First Aid certification and valid Texas driver's license
- Experience with event planning and community outreach
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and risk management
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
