Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of high-traffic recreational facilities
- Develop and implement innovative community engagement programs
- Manage park maintenance teams and coordinate capital improvement projects
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead volunteer recruitment and training initiatives
- Prepare grant proposals and manage departmental budgets
- Collaborate with tourism boards to promote recreational attractions
- Organize signature events and cultural festivals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or related field
- 5+ years of progressive parks and recreation experience
- CPR/First Aid certification and lifeguarding credentials
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and facility management software
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets over $500K
- Strong conflict resolution and public speaking abilities
- Knowledge of Hawaiian flora and cultural preservation practices
