Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of park grounds, including mowing, pruning, litter removal, and irrigation system upkeep
- Operate park equipment (mowers, trimmers, small machinery) safely and efficiently
- Assist with event setup and breakdown for community festivals, sports leagues, and cultural activities
- Conduct routine safety inspections of playgrounds and recreational facilities
- Collaborate with volunteers and community groups on beautification projects
- Implement seasonal park enhancements including flowerbeds and landscaping
- Respond to citizen inquiries and resolve park-related issues promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or recreation facility operations
- Certification in CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to perform physical tasks in outdoor conditions (heat, humidity, rain)
- Basic knowledge of horticultural practices and turf management
- Strong communication skills and commitment to customer service excellence
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate hand/power tools safely
