Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Calculations: Accurately process and calculate pension benefits, including retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and disability payouts.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all pension transactions adhere to state laws, ERISA guidelines, and internal policies.
- Member Services: Serve as the primary point of contact for retirees and employees, addressing inquiries regarding benefit statements and plan details.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate complex financial reports and conduct actuarial analysis to forecast fund performance and solvency.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain precise electronic and physical records for all active and inactive pension accounts.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, government accounting, or actuarial services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is mandatory.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of state retirement systems and federal regulations governing public pensions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
