Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the pension processing unit, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze member data and calculate pension benefits based on contribution history and service length.
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA regulations and state-specific pension laws.
- Provide detailed responses to inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and active employees regarding plan benefits.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile monthly pension statements and fund allocations.
- Conduct audits of member records to identify discrepancies and rectify errors.
- Prepare and present reports on pension fund performance and actuarial projections to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or a related government role.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and FASB standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced functions) and SQL is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
