Job Overview:

Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor pension fund performance to ensure long-term solvency and growth.
- Prepare complex actuarial reports and present findings to the City Council and Finance Committee.
- Ensure full compliance with ERISA regulations, CalPERS guidelines, and local government codes.
- Calculate and process retirement benefits for eligible employees and retirees.
- Collaborate with actuaries and external auditors to review and validate financial data.
- Develop and update pension plan documentation and employee communication materials.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to employee contributions and benefit projections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public sector finance, pension administration, or actuarial consulting.
- Professional certification (CFA, CPA, or ERPA) is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and financial modeling software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
