Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration of the defined benefit pension plans, ensuring accurate calculation and payment of benefits to retirees.
- Analyze complex pension data and actuarial valuations to recommend plan amendments and funding strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, IRC, and Ohio Revised Code.
- Conduct training sessions for public employers and plan members regarding pension eligibility and benefit structures.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to manage risk assessments and long-term financial projections.
- Investigate and resolve complex benefit inquiries and discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or actuarial science.
- Professional certification such as CFP, CFA, or a designation from the Society of Actuaries is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with ERISA compliance software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
