Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the pension plan, including member inquiries, benefit calculations, and status updates.
- Ensure strict adherence to government regulations, internal policies, and actuarial standards.
- Analyze actuarial reports and financial data to assess fund health and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Collaborate with actuaries, auditors, and legal teams to maintain compliance and resolve complex discrepancies.
- Oversee the maintenance and update of pension plan documents, ensuring they reflect current legislation.
- Conduct training sessions for staff and assist members with understanding their retirement options.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in public sector pension administration, government finance, or benefits management.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and state-specific pension laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
