Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive actuarial valuations and financial projections for defined benefit pension plans.
- Analyze funding status and recommend strategies to optimize plan sustainability.
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA regulations and District government financial reporting standards.
- Prepare complex reports and presentations for the Board of Trustees and legislative bodies.
- Collaborate with actuaries and external auditors to ensure audit readiness.
- Oversee the administration of member records and ensure accurate benefit calculations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in pension administration, actuarial consulting, or government financial management.
- Actuarial designation (FSA or ASA) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL, or actuarial software (e.g., Milliman, Moody's).
- Strong understanding of ERISA, GASB, and FASB accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
