Responsibilities
- Administer and analyze federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS, ensuring compliance with OPM regulations
- Conduct benefit calculations and retirement counseling for federal employees and agencies
- Develop policy recommendations for retirement system improvements based on data analysis
- Oversee pension fund investments and actuarial valuations for multi-billion dollar portfolios
- Lead audits of agency retirement programs to identify compliance gaps and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with Treasury and GSA on interagency pension initiatives and reporting
- Train federal HR professionals on retirement plan administration and policy updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience, preferably in federal or public sector
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS) and OPM regulations
- Professional designation (e.g., CEBS, ASA) or relevant federal retirement certification
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, actuarial software, and federal reporting systems
- Strong analytical skills for benefit calculations and financial modeling
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
