Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and evaluate complex policy issues across healthcare, education, and urban development sectors
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for Council review
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community groups, nonprofits, and federal partners
- Monitor legislative trends and regulatory changes affecting District operations
- Quantify policy impacts using economic modeling and data visualization tools
- Present findings to senior officials and testify at public hearings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methods and statistical software (R, Stata)
- Proven track record of drafting legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Deep knowledge of DC government structure and federal-local dynamics
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
- Security clearance eligibility required
