As a key member of our Policy Division, you'll collaborate with legislators, agency leaders, and community stakeholders to develop evidence-based solutions that enhance public safety across 254 counties. Your work directly influences Texas' legislative priorities and operational frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Research and draft comprehensive policy proposals aligned with agency mission and state regulations
- Analyze legislative impacts and regulatory changes affecting public safety operations
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement through public forums, advisory committees, and interagency task forces
- Develop data-driven reports and policy briefs for executive leadership and legislative committees
- Monitor federal compliance requirements and implement necessary adjustments to state protocols
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee policy implementation across regional districts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in Texas legislative process and state regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
- Proven track record of developing successful policy initiatives
