Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive policy research and analysis on complex state issues including healthcare, education, and environmental regulations
- Develop and present policy recommendations to senior leadership and legislative committees
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing new policy initiatives across state agencies
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and testimony for public hearings and stakeholder meetings
- Monitor emerging policy trends and best practices from other jurisdictions
- Manage policy implementation timelines and coordinate with agency partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, Stata) and policy modeling software
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing evidence-based policy solutions
- Experience preparing complex policy documents for legislative review
- Strong understanding of California state government operations and legislative processes
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
