Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy proposals and draft legislative recommendations for state leadership
- Conduct quantitative research and economic impact assessments for public programs
- Coordinate inter-agency task forces to implement cross-functional initiatives
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive stakeholders
- Develop policy briefs and executive summaries for cabinet-level review
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess implications for Texas operations
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise policy research projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or legislative affairs
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and data visualization tools
- Expertise in Texas state government structure and legislative processes
- Strong writing skills with samples of published policy documents
- Active Texas government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel statewide
