Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex public policy issues affecting Austin residents
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for city council consideration
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement policy solutions
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders
- Monitor legislation and regulatory changes at state/federal levels
- Engage with community groups and constituents to gather input
- Manage policy implementation timelines and deliverables
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government/nonprofit
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, Python)
- Deep knowledge of Texas municipal governance structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Experience with Austin-specific community initiatives preferred
