Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate comprehensive policy proposals for urban development initiatives
- Analyze complex data sets to assess policy impacts and recommend evidence-based solutions
- Coordinate with 15+ city agencies to implement cross-departmental programs
- Present findings to senior officials through concise executive briefings and reports
- Monitor legislative changes and regulatory updates affecting District operations
- Mentor junior analysts through knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborative projects
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups and industry partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or R)
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislative proposals and policy memos
- Strong understanding of DC's unique governance structure and regulatory environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
- Experience managing multi-year projects with budgets exceeding $500K
- Valid District of Columbia driver's license (if applicable to role requirements)
