Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft strategic recommendations for city leadership
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support evidence-based decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement policy initiatives
- Present findings to elected officials, stakeholders, and the public
- Monitor legislation and regulatory changes affecting municipal operations
- Develop and maintain policy briefs, reports, and presentations
- Engage with community organizations to incorporate diverse perspectives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or public sector consulting
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis and statistical modeling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with policy analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, GIS)
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion principles
- Knowledge of Chicago's governmental structure and policy landscape
- Valid Illinois driver's license (required for occasional site visits)
