Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations through quantitative analysis and stakeholder interviews
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement state-wide initiatives in education reform
- Prepare legislative briefs and testimony for Assembly and Senate committees
- Manage $5M+ grant programs ensuring compliance with state regulations
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed legislation using advanced statistical models
- Coordinate with 12 state agencies to align policy objectives and resource allocation
- Present findings to senior leadership and legislative bodies using data visualization tools
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in California's legislative process and regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SAS)
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Professional certification in Policy Analysis (e.g., APPAM) or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in managing complex intergovernmental projects
- Clearances for handling sensitive state data (required post-hire)
