Responsibilities
- Develop and recommend evidence-based public health policies aligned with state mandates and community needs
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and policy gaps
- Coordinate with legislative stakeholders to draft and advocate for health legislation
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives with healthcare providers, community organizations, and local agencies
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed health programs and interventions
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and presentations for executive leadership
- Monitor implementation of health policies and recommend adjustments based on performance metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in health policy development or government affairs
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS) and health data systems
- Demonstrated experience with Texas legislative processes and regulatory frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Knowledge of public health initiatives specific to Texas and Bexar County
