Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for city council
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and data-driven impact assessments
- Develop implementation strategies for housing, transportation, and sustainability initiatives
- Coordinate interdepartmental projects and present findings to public officials
- Monitor federal/state policy developments and advise on compliance requirements
- Maintain stakeholder relationships with community groups and advocacy organizations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislative proposals and policy briefs
- Knowledge of California municipal governance and regulatory frameworks
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage competing priorities
