Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy proposals and legislative recommendations for city council review
- Analyze complex urban challenges using quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to ensure policy alignment and implementation
- Present findings to elected officials and community stakeholders through compelling reports
- Monitor policy outcomes and recommend adjustments based on performance metrics
- Lead public engagement sessions to gather community input on proposed regulations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative analysis with proficiency in statistical software (R, SPSS, or SAS)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing municipal policies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with portfolio of published reports
- Valid Washington State driver's license and ability to travel to multiple city sites
- Knowledge of Pacific Northwest regional governance structures and challenges
