Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex fiscal policies and legislative proposals
- Conduct quantitative research on economic trends and state revenue projections
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefings for executive leadership and legislative bodies
- Coordinate interdepartmental initiatives on budget and tax policy
- Present findings to high-level stakeholders including the Governor's office
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess impacts on state finances
- Mentor junior analysts on policy research methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative analysis tools (R, Stata, SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with New York State budget processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of federal and state fiscal policies
- Ability to obtain confidential clearance
