Responsibilities
- Analyze complex legislation and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations for legislative committees
- Coordinate with state agencies and stakeholder groups on policy implementation
- Prepare testimony and reports for legislative hearings
- Monitor federal policy developments affecting Texas interests
- Mentor junior analysts and manage cross-functional projects
- Track budget implications of proposed policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, R, Python)
- Deep understanding of Texas legislative processes
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with complex audiences
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and public hearings
- Valid Texas driver's license (required for travel)
- Master's degree preferred for senior roles
