Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for legislative initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using data visualization tools like Tableau
- Collaborate with agency heads to develop strategic policy frameworks aligned with state priorities
- Present findings to legislative committees and senior leadership through compelling reports
- Monitor federal regulations and assess impacts on Texas operations
- Mentor junior analysts and cross-functional project teams
- Evaluate policy effectiveness through longitudinal studies and stakeholder feedback
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sectors
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (R, SPSS, or SAS)
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation or regulatory impact statements
- Deep understanding of Texas state government processes and budget cycles
- Professional certification (e.g., PPFA, CPP) preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Active Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide
