Responsibilities
- Analyze complex municipal policy issues and draft comprehensive research reports
- Develop data-driven recommendations for council agenda items and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate interdepartmental policy implementation and compliance monitoring
- Present findings to elected officials, stakeholders, and public forums
- Manage policy lifecycle from research through evaluation and refinement
- Stay current on state/federal regulations affecting local governance
- Mentor junior analysts and maintain policy documentation systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years government policy analysis experience required
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, SAS)
- Proven track record in developing municipal policy frameworks
- Colorado driver's license and ability to travel citywide
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Superior written/verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Experience with public budget processes and grant compliance
