Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop evidence-based recommendations for legislative action
- Research and evaluate the socioeconomic impact of proposed regulations
- Collaborate with state agencies to align policy objectives with departmental goals
- Prepare comprehensive briefings and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders
- Monitor legislative developments and assess implications for state programs
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions to gather diverse perspectives
- Oversee policy implementation and measure outcomes against KPIs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or legislative affairs
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful policy initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of California's legislative and regulatory processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
