Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate policy proposals aligned with Charlotte's strategic goals
- Analyze federal/state legislation impacts on local operations and budgets
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives for emergency preparedness and response
- Present findings to City Council, Mayor's Office, and external stakeholders
- Manage grant compliance for federal/state funding programs
- Collaborate with NC State Legislature and congressional delegation
- Oversee public engagement campaigns for policy implementation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years government policy analysis experience (federal/state/local)
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, SQL)
- Proven success in grant writing and federal compliance
- Expertise in Charlotte-Mecklenburg governance structure
- Strong written/verbal communication with executive audiences
- Valid NC driver's license and ability to work flexible hours
