Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate policy proposals addressing housing affordability, economic development, and sustainability initiatives
- Analyze legislative impacts and regulatory compliance for local government operations
- Lead cross-departmental projects to implement strategic city goals
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and public reports for City Council review
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community groups, businesses, and non-profits
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using municipal data systems
- Advise senior leadership on emerging policy trends and best practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or related public sector role
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, R, or Python)
- Deep knowledge of California state and federal regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience with community engagement methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
