Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with state priorities
- Collaborate with agency heads and legislative stakeholders to implement policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior leadership and public hearings
- Monitor federal policy trends and assess implications for New York residents
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging public challenges
- Maintain compliance with state procurement and ethics regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation or regulatory documents
- Strong understanding of New York State budget processes and governance structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex topics
- Valid New York State driver's license (required for field site visits)
